Spotify is a legitimate streaming music service platform, officially launched in Stockholm, Sweden, in October 2008. Spotify offers both free and paid services. Apple's iTunes uses a paid download model; in comparison, Spotify offers smoother operation, simpler usage, and a much larger selection of tracks. Due to the requirement of obtaining an online audio-visual license to operate network audio-visual products in China, Spotify has not yet entered the mainland Chinese market. As of January 2015, Spotify had over 60 million users, 15 million of whom were paid subscribers.
